About Coach

Linz knows firsthand what the right coach at the right time can do for an athlete. In 8th grade, he started strength training — and the speed, power, and confidence he built helped him earn a varsity football spot as a freshman and eventually play at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. That experience never left him.

After 10+ years coaching at the collegiate level — with stops at Butler University, the University of Indianapolis, Lincoln Memorial University, and Brookfield East High School — Linz moved back to the Milwaukee area to be closer to family. And when he got home, he saw a gap he couldn't ignore: Wisconsin had plenty of football coaches and gym teachers running "strength programs," but very few coaches with the formal education, speed development background, and athlete development philosophy to do it right.

So he built WSP from scratch.

Today, Linz has worked with over 2,000 athletes and built Wisconsin Sports Performance around a belief he's held since day one: athleticism is built on a foundation of strength, proper technique, and a systematic approach that mixes science with experience. His mission has always been to give a voice to the voiceless — to work with athletes and teams that typically get overlooked when it comes to strength and conditioning, but who benefit from it just as much as anyone.

Linz holds an MBA from Lincoln Memorial University, a B.S. in Fitness from UW-La Crosse, and carries certifications from the NSCA (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist), USA Weightlifting (Level 1 Sport Coach), Parisi Speed School, and Barbell Rehab. He doesn't just train athletes — he guarantees their results.
